Leading with Clarity and
Nothing is as sobering as the realisation that things in your life need to change. This is what happened to me in my late 50s. I came to the place of asking myself this question. “With the good working years left, how can I leave a stronger and lasting legacy?” From here my journey began.
I discovered two critical things. First, having a purpose was important. Second and more important, if I wasn't growing to be the best version of myself, how I showed up in my purpose would be diluted and less impactful.
“Purpose is the clarity of intention”
Purpose is deeply rooted in this idea. “It is an emotional aspiration, and everyone has one.” It is never too late to discover and is recognisable in the early twenties of life. It can be definable in passion, dreams, and legacy. More importantly it will be congruent and aligned to you as an individual. This will be clear to you, if you have good self-awareness of your Strengths, Values and Beliefs.
How Purpose Helps
Purpose is more than a concept; it’s a practical tool for navigating life. Here are three ways it makes a difference:
1. Provides Clarity in Decision-Making
When you have a clear purpose, decisions become easier. Purpose acts as a filter, helping you discern what aligns with your goals and values. It eliminates distractions and allows you to focus on what truly matters, saving time and energy.
2. Builds Resilience
Life is full of challenges, but purpose provides the strength to persevere. When you have a clear “why,” setbacks become stepping stones rather than roadblocks. Purpose instils a sense of determination, enabling you to push through difficulties with a clear vision of the bigger picture and the direction you’re heading.
3. Inspires and Aligns Others
Purpose is contagious. When you lead with purpose, you inspire those around you. Whether in a professional or personal context, your purpose creates alignment and fosters collaboration. It’s a beacon that draws others toward a shared vision.

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why." – Mark Twain
Purpose is often found in the intersection of passions, dreams, and legacy. When aligned with your core values, it becomes a powerful force that drives your actions and decisions. Purpose provides a sense of direction, grounding you in what truly matters and offering a framework for making meaningful contributions to the world.
